Hello from DedemMore than a name
“Dedem” means “my grandfather” in Turkish. But for us it means much more, the scent of childhood mornings, the first pinch of spice, and the most flavorful slice of our very first döner.
Craftsmanship of the past, safety of today
The word “Dedem” doesn’t just refer to a family elder. It stands for our first master of flavor, our first teacher of ethics, and our first role model in honest trade.
When this brand was founded, it wasn’t only about profit, it was about passing on a culture. We watched the value of döner change over time, but we always believed one thing: this flavor tells a story.
A 50-year journey of butchery & döner
The 1970s
The journey began with a humble butcher shop in Türkiye, and a deep respect for meat, craft and the people it feeds.
Across the ocean
It continued at a döner stand in America, where döner grew into one of the most beloved street foods in the U.S.
Today, in Chicago
We carry the legacy forward with modern, certified production, true to the original recipe, free from unnecessary additives.
Today döner can be found in cities all around the world, but not every döner is authentic. Dedem stays true to the original Turkish recipe: carefully marinated and masterfully prepared. This flavor is a symbol of migration, labor and cultural exchange, and we carry it into the future.
